Day 2 - Alison Lloyd

Today the weather was quite a change from the warm Austrian night before where we ate dinner under clear blue skies and the Alps. Above all things your children were troopers today. The rain started as we got ready for the bus at 9am and was relentless until mid afternoon. Line ups and narrow streets forced us to walk through the rain to Mozarts Geburtshaus where we enjoyed a fascinating, but somewhat damp tour through the rooms of Mozart's birthplace. Luckily, the souvenirs of the day were gratefully purchased at a Mozart kiosk in the form of music note umbrellas! This made for a drier trip back to the bus and a very pretty one at that! Due to the rain we had to adjust the schedule a little and so we skipped the Fortress of Hohensalsburg, which was alright with everyone. Anyway, any minor disappointment anyone may have had was made up with a joint dinner with the Salzburg Boys and Girls Choirs and a Bavarian dinner and dance. Tomorrow we head to Hellbrunn Palace as well as a joint rehearsal and performance with the Salzburg Boys and Girls Choir. Everyone should be on track with the time change by then and should make for the best day yet. Gute nacht. :)

Oops I almost forgot! There was also a trip to the Salt Mines which the kids LOVED....they see now why Salzburg, means "Salt Castle".
